    Caiba becomes the leading Spanish manufacturer of plastic container for the food industry.

    Plastinsa is founded

    Plastinsa, a subsidiary company of Caiba, is founded and is the leading company in the ranking of merchandising and point-of-sale (POS) advertising companies in the Spanish market.

  • 1980

    Pioneers in PET

    Caiba is a pioneer in manufacturing PET preforms and containers in Spain.

  • 1998

    Opening of Caiba Jaén

    Opening of Caiba Jaén, located in the world's leading olive oil production region.

  • 2009

    El Mundo innovator award

    Caiba is awarded the Innovators Award from the newspaper El Mundo to the best Company-Technological Institute collaboration for its project for the improvement of the barrier effect and the thermal properties of PET containers through the incorporation of nanoclays.

  • 2010

    Hercules Economy and Tourism award

    The City Council of Alcalá la Real, in Jaén, has recognised Caiba's role in the economic and social development of the town granting it the Hercules Economy and Tourism Award.

  • 2012

    Opening of the new premises

    The company moves to its new headquarters, a 23.000 m2 production plant, provided with modern installations, the most advanced machinery in the sector and a strategic geographical location.

  • 2013

    Sustainable innovation

    Caiba studies applying additives capable of absorbing ultraviolet rays in PET packaging for olive oil.

  • Fundación

    Economía 3 Award

    Caiba received an award on occasion of twentieth anniversary of the magazine Economía 3.

  • 2014

    Rotary Club Valencia Award

    Rotary Club Valencia Centre distinguishes Caiba with the Community service Award for its worthy activity in development and innovation as well as for the services carried out in favour of the community.

  • 2016

    New shareholder

    Nazca Capital becomes a Caiba shareholder with 75% of the capital. The Baños family retains 25% and the management of the company.
